A Kenyan man identified as Douglas Otieno Owila, made headlines in September 2016 when he spent a huge amount of money to celebrate his son’s birthday. Sadly, he is now in deep financial distress and is asking for donations, Igbere Tv reports. Igbere Tv had learnt that Mr. Owila spent KSh 500,000 ( over N1.7 million ) on his son’s birthday almost three years ago and the celebration featured on local blogs. But, on March 19, 2019, Owila was arrested and detained at Kodiago GK Prisons where he spent the night on Tuesday after he failed to raise KSh 100,000 (over N355K) bond to secure the release of a friend. The Nigerian police has arrested 2 of its officers, for allegedly killing an NSCDC officer yesterday in the presence of his family. Recall that we reported yesterday that Late Ogar Jombo, an Assistant Superintendent of the NSCDC was stopped by the policemen for an alleged violation of traffic rules. He was however beaten to death by the policemen in the presence of his wife and children. According to reports, a 300 level student of Linguistic Department in Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka (UNIZIK), was found dead in front of commissioners quarters in the capital city of Anambra state. This was revealed by the Students Union Government (SUG) vice president of the institution, Cynthia Uwah, who disclosed the female student identified as Pauline was found dead early this morning and has been taken to the mortuary by the chief security officer of the school.
